Agentes de la Policía Nacional han desmantelado en Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) el laboratorio clandestino de anabolizantes y hormonas más activo de Europa. Los 16 artículos elegidos presentaron una obsolescencia, según el índice de Burton Kebler, igual a 12,50 años, con un índice de Price del 12,50%. Al evaluar la calidad de los artículos seleccionados para la revisión, mediante el cuestionario CONSORT, las puntuaciones oscilaron entre 11,5 y 15,5 con mediana igual a 14 (tabla 2). Para determinar la actualidad de los artículos se calculó el semiperíodo de Burton-Kebler (la mediana de la edad) y el índice de Price (porcentaje de artículos con antigüedad menor a 5 años).

Una vez hemos visto el concepto de dopaje y analizado las consecuencias jurídicas para los responsables de la conducta típica descrita, veremos en qué casos estaría permitido facilitar o proporcionar a personas sustancias dopantes. La diferencia con los farmacéuticos españoles es que en Andorra, estos profesionales tienen la oportunidad de comprar medicamentos en cualquier laboratorio del mundo. Esto les permitía, adquirir productos, por ejemplo, como el Solcoseryl, fabricado en Viena y prohibido en España. Uno de los esteroides anabólicos más usados es la testosterona, que está recomendada solo en casos muy concretos.

En el estudio de Porcerelli y Sandler23, indicaban que los usuarios de EAA tendrían puntuaciones más altas para el narcisismo y puntuaciones más bajas para la empatía en comparación con el grupo que no consumía EAA. En este estudio se llega a la conclusión de que había una relación entre los EAA y personalidades narcisistas pero dejan constancia de la necesidad de más investigación para determinar una relación directa. En el trabajo de Pagonis et al.6, se llegó a la conclusión de que el consumo de agentes anabólicos, en personas gemelas, inducían a importantes cambios psiquiátricos en el consumidor de dichas sustancias. Los trabajos revisados presentaban una obsolescencia superior a lo esperado en el área de las ciencias de la salud. Se observó, en la revisión, que los EAA presentaban efectos adversos, sobre todo a nivel cardiovascular, conductual y aparición de efectos secundarios asociados al consumo de anabolizantes. Si bien, existen discrepancias entre la magnitud de los mismos a nivel cardiovascular y su potencial daño.

Por tanto, no se pueden utilizar en personas sanas, que practiquen el ejercicio físico con regularidad y que consuman esteroides para mejorar su rendimiento físico y aumentar la masa muscular, ya que este no es un uso autorizado terapéuticamente para este tipo de sustancias. Esto es así porque este tipo de personas recurren a facultativos para consumir anabolizantes con un management médico en lugar de hacerlo en el mercado negro, donde podrían verse perjudicados por las contraindicaciones de los mismos. Consiste en aumentar la masa de glóbulos rojos o células rojas sanguíneas (RBC) para mejorar el rendimiento en el ejercicio. La RBC tiene influencia sobre el rendimiento en el ejercicio porque lleva oxígeno al músculo esquelético y ayuda a mantener el equilibrio ácido-base.

La Unidad Central de Consumo de los Mossos d’Esquadra ha llevado a cabo una investigación a instancias de la Consejeria de Salud al detectar la venta de anabolizantes, Viagra y otros medicamentos contra la disfunción eréctil y complementos alimentarios con componentes prohibidos en el portal de compraventa en Internet Wallapop. Esa falta de información, en opinión de la OCU, «es especialmente peligrosa si pensamos que son productos que se adquieren sin control previo ni del médico, responsable del diagnóstico, ni del farmacéutico, responsable del producto». Además, normalmente los productos se compran a un precio mayor que en el mercado y llegan al consumidor sin prospecto ni envase o «camuflados», para no ser detectados en las aduanas como juguetes o productos informáticos. Aunque la adicción a los esteroides no figura entre los trastornos relacionados con sustancias, aproximadamente el 30 por cien de los consumidores de anabolizantes desarrollan un cuadro related a otras adicciones.

Sí es un medicamento autorizado en España, pero solo para tratar enfermedades, y su venta, en ese caso, es authorized, aunque siempre bajo un estricto control, pues se precisa de un informe que justifique su uso y una receta médica, según apunta el especialista. “Incluso con prescripción médica los anabolizantes no están autorizados para ser empleados de forma recreativa con el objetivo de aumentar la masa muscular en deportistas sin que padezcan una patología que justifique su uso”, añade. En una operación policial contra el tráfico de sustancias dopantes, se han identificado 60 deportistas profesionales, de élite y amateurs, la mayoría ciclistas y atletas, que compraban estos medicamentos a través de web en una farmacia de Andorra.
